Love the writing, love the writing, love the writing…the rest will follow.
{Jane Yolen}
I can't write without a reader. It's precisely like a kiss–you can't do it alone.
{John Cheever}
When you make music or write or create, it's really your job to have mind-blowing, irresponsible, condomless sex with whatever idea it is you're writing about at the time.
{Lady Gaga}
Writing is a lonely job. Having someone who believes in you makes a lot of difference. They don’t have to make speeches. Just believing is usually enough.
{Stephen King}
Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.
{William Wordsworth}
We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.
{Anaïs Nin}
I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions.
{James Michener}
Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don't feel I should be doing something else.
{Gloria Steinem}
I wish you a wrestling match with your Creative Muse that will last a lifetime. I wish craziness and foolishness and madness upon you. May you live with hysteria, and out of it make fine stories. Which finally means, may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.
{Ray Bradbury}
Happy Monday and happy writing, Zigzaggers!!!
Have a lovely Valentine’s Day with your family & friends!

Jane Yolen's quote speaks to me, "Love the writing, love the writing, love the writing…the rest will follow."
Writing is hard work. I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it. :)
T
Love the Nin quote!
Wonderful. :)
Love the quotes, they're very motivational. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Ooh that last quote was inspiring!
Oh, Laura, I've missed your blog!! I'm adding you to sidebar where you should have been all along! (Although you ARE on my classroom sidebar, because I send my students here all the time) :-)
Love all of these. :) Ha, ha at Lady Gaga.
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Aw, I like the John Cheever quote about not being able to write alone without a reader! Love the Michener one as well. Happy Valentine's Day, Laura! May it be filled with lots of candy and flowers and love!
Love this! My faves were the "tasting life twice" quote and the "kiss" (Cheever) quote.
So cute! Happy Valentine's Day!
Teresa- That's absolutely true!
Diane- I like that one too!
Faith- Glad you like the quotes today!
Clarissa- Thanks and you're welcome!
Jennifer- I love that one! There's more to it which I'll be posting at a later date. I already had enough quotes today and didn't want it to be too long!
Shannon- Wow, that's awesome! Thanks! I hope some of you students like my blog.
Karen- I know isn't Gaga's great? So funny and so true that it's important to write dangerously!
Julie- It's hard to choose a favorite from this bunch! Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day, too!
Ali- I like Cheever's quote a lot too!
Bluestocking- Thanks and a happy Valentine's Day to you, too!
That Lady Gaga quote and the one by Ray Bradbury were unusual, almost shocking -and yet, I get it.
AWE! Those are perfect! Gloria Steinem was my fav.
I love that Lady Gaga approaches creativity like that and you can tell in her music too!
You always have the best quotes, Laura. Where do you find them all????
Great quotes!
Wagging Tales
Thanks for sharing all of these! I especially like Gloria's.. so true :)
I love that Gloria Steinem one:)
I love all of these quotes. I just wish I could somehow carry them in my heart when my fingers don't want to type and my brain wants to switch off. I need (hm, thinks aloud...) I need a multi-coloured zebra print corkboard where I can pin quotes and see it out of the corner of my eye as I open my notebook. That should do it. :)
Margo- I know what you mean!
Colene- I completely agree with Gloria!
Laura- She sure does. I think it's good to not hold back and just write dangerously!
Stina- Thanks! I find them all over! Mostly in books but also on the internet.
Charmaine- Hello and welcome to Wavy Lines! I'm glad you like the quotes. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Kristin- You're welcome! I think we all agree with Gloria. :)
Lindsay- Gloria's seems to be one of the favorites in this bunch!
Jayne- Yes, definitely do that!! I have quotes all over the bulletin board above my desk and taped inside my desk drawers. It's good to have those sudden boosts of inspiration and motivation!
