In Which Minions Take Over A to Z!

I AM A MINION. The incredible A-Z Blogging Challenge staff advertised for minions to help out during April, and I answered the call! L. Diane Wolfe @ Spunk on a Stick recruited me, and I’m proud to be one of Spunky’s Soldiers! Diane’s other Spunky Soldiers are:

Clarissa Draper @ Listening to the Voices
Tyrean Martinson @ Tyrean’s Writing Spot
Sia McKye @ Sia McKye Over Coffee

This will be my third consecutive year participating in the April A-Z Blogging Challenge. It’s my favorite blogfest, and I’m looking forward to helping out! (Despite this post's title, I'm not planning a mutiny. ;) No worries, Diane!)

Did you sign up yet??? Click here to participate in the year's greatest blogfest! You have until April 1, so there's still plenty of time!

My #1 tip for the Challenge is to start preparing some of your posts now. I like to have all my posts written and scheduled before April. If you don’t want to do that or don’t think you can make the time, consider just choosing the topic for each letter now. That way you’ll already have an idea what to post that day! (Nicole has a terrific idea on what to post on Mondays during April. Click here to read about her Monday Movie Meme!)

My #2 tip for the Challenge is to start your blog visiting/commenting with the blog AFTER yours on the sign-up list. I think last year was the first time the staff made this suggestion, and it was brilliant. It made commenting seem more manageable because I could easily keep track of the blogs I’d already visited and was able to get around to so many more blogs.

Side Note: If you’re into crafts, DIY projects, and recipes be sure to check out my best friend’s blog, Stella Marie @ Domestic Evolution. She began blogging only a couple months ago, and this will be her first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge. She’s working really hard to prepare her posts, and I know she’ll have 26 wonderfully creative projects and delicious eats to share with you!

Are you participating in this year’s A to Z Blogging Challenge? Do you have any helpful tips to share?

Click here for the sign-up list! This year blog categories are available (it’s optional) so be sure to read the entire post before signing up.

I hope you’re having a great week and have a wonderful weekend, Zigzaggers!!!

Hi, Laura,

I'm really trying to get a move on with the posts. Started, but sputtered to a halt. Good tips for coping during the month. Checking out your friend.

Thanks for the advice.

Congrats on helping out. I'm not doing the challenge because it doesn't work with what we do at Literary Rambles. But I do enjoy reading the posts of my followers. Great tips on how to manage it.

Diane snagged you before I saw the names on the list. You'll do an excellent job in whatever role your given! You've already started off with an excellent post!!

Hi fellow Spunky Soldier. I have a number of posts already written so consider I am well ahead. Decided to write more so when the time comes I will have more time to devote to being a minion.

I always enjoy seeing the creativity this fest spurs, but once again can't participate. I'll be too busy launching my poetry collection. If anyone wants a poetry guest post to fill an A-Z day (April is National Poetry Month after all), please send them my way!

Hello, fellow minion! I wasn't sure how the minion thing worked. Are we assigned specific blogs to follow or are we just to pick from the list?

Whoo, thanks for the shout-out! I'm very much excited AND nervous for A to Z :-) It will be a great learning experience. xoxo

CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm a minion, too. I still need to choose my theme, though. I want to do something funky and crazy this time around. Hmm...

Good for you. I did this blogfest last year, but I can't participate this year. Too much going on. And thanks for the great advice on my blog. I'm going to do that. ;)

A minion!!! That's so awesome that you'll help out. I don't participate in the A-Z challenge, but I love hopping around to see everyone's posts. Good luck!

Hello, everyone!

I'm happy to hear many of you are also participating in the A-Z Challenge, and to those who aren't this year, thanks for cheering us on!!

@Clarissa- Diane told me she'll be assigning about 20 blogs to each minion to keep an eye on: make sure they're posting, if there's adult content that there's an AC next to their blog name on the linky list, stuff like that. Easy peasy!

Thanks for visiting and commenting! I hope you all had a terrific weekend and may you have a wonderful week! Happy writing!!

Love,
Laura

I look forward to reading posts in the A to Z, but I am giving myself permission to not participate this year! It exhausts me! More fun to read what others come up with!

Melissa- Thank you! My posts are written and scheduled so I can just enjoy reading everyone else's posts, too. Can't wait!
